FAQ

  • Where are you located?

We’re proudly based in Lusaka, Zambia, roasting locally for the growing community of coffee lovers here and beyond.

  • Where do you get your beans?

Our primary supplier is Mount Sunzu Estate in northern Zambia — a pioneering producer of specialty-grade coffee. Alongside this, we occasionally offer small, limited-edition lots sourced from exceptional farms, available exclusively to Lusaka residents.

  • What do you mean by air roasting?

Unlike traditional drum roasting, which relies on a hot metal surface to heat the beans, air roasting uses a stream of clean, hot air to suspend and evenly roast them. This method produces a cleaner, smoother cup and highlights each bean’s natural flavor profile.

  • What is a micro-roastery?

A micro-roastery is a small, quality-focused roasting operation. We roast in small batches, allowing us to monitor every detail of the process to bring out the best in each lot.

  • What variety do you primarily roast?

Our cornerstone coffee is Starmaya, a remarkable hybrid variety grown at Mount Sunzu. It offers a balanced cup with rich sweetness, lively acidity, and layered complexity — our everyday favorite.

  • Why is it called LoLo Coffee?

The name LoLo Coffee reflects our roots and our passion for innovation in Zambian coffee. Our main coffee, Aria, is inspired by the air-roasting process, a modern technique that produces a cleaner, more aromatic cup unlike traditional drum-roasted coffee.
